Two students, James and John were given a grammar test by their teacher. The question was, “is it better to use “had” or “had had” in this example sentence?”
The teacher collected the tests, and looked over their answers.
James, while John had had “had”, had had “had had.” “Had had” had had a better effect on the teacher.
welcome to the english language
It’s 1 AM and I’m Facebook stalking everyone I hate what are you doing????
thealmightybookwyrm said: AND YOU GET A KEYBOARD SMASH TOO like 12 hours later lol: 79, 45, 12, 87, 45. I swear those are the same numbers I gave Tai whoops thanks keyboard
79: What was the last concert you saw?
UMMMMMMMMMMM I think I saw some concerts at CUA but the last concert I remember seeing is when I went with Alyssa to see Idina Menzel at the Wolftrap and it was glorious.
45: Ever watch soap operas?
Actually, the default channel at my work is the soap opera channel and they’re absolutely absurd! And my weirdo’s (I have yet to find a good name to call him on tumblr) mom watches Telemundo soaps and they’re just as absurd.
12: Have you ever peed in the woods?
When I was less than ten but I discovered recently that I am blatter shy! I can’t pee outside of the toilet anymore. Not even in the ocean which is like the biggest toilet :P
87: Ever won a contest?
Like a legit contest or a fake contest among friends? Or a contest with myself??? I constantly bet myself. Like, “Oh, man, I bet I can do that.” And then I either win or lose so miserably that I have a great story to tell. But a legit contest, I don’t think so. I win a lot of raffles. I’ve won three CDs and a Pandora bracelet in raffles!
You put 45 twice so I will take this opportunity to say what shows I do like! (And watch more than other shows):
The Big Bang Theory
The Walking Dead
And those are only the ones I’m caught up with!
Anonymous said: hi i respect your opinion a lot but can you please reference where you heard that hamas isnt responsible for the 3 israeli boys' deaths bc as far as i know thats not true. also please dont say that israle isnt suffering too. they havent suffered as much as the palestinians in this conflict, but what they go through isnt to be taken lightly. and what the palestinians go through shouldnt be taken lightly either. othe rthan that i hope you dont take tis negatively bc i dont mena it that way at all
Dont worry b. Its good to have a discussion and I like hearing what you have to say.
Here’s the reference: http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2014/07/hamas-didnt-kidnap-the-israeli-teens-after-all.html - sorry…I’m on my phone so I can’t hyperlink.
Also, I understand that even Hamas’ bombs can be traumatic to the people of Israel because loud bangs going off in a relatively safe area is hard…like I grew up in Canada and if even a gunshot went off I’d be down in my basement hiding under blankets. But hearing loud bangs is nothing compared to seeing your next door neighbours body split in two or being in a hospital or school and seeing the wall on top of you go down and a kid dying instantly by the crush. Its incomparable.
Even Israeli citizens in Tel Aviv are protesting against what their government is doing…and when you look at news footage of journalists in Israel compared to journalists in Gaza. The difference is substantial like the reporters in Gaza are wearing bomb safety attire and the ones in Israel are wearing button up short sleeve shirts like…you wouldnt be wearing a button up if you were in any danger. You’d at least wear a safety vest.
Innocent people dont deserve to be in the middle of this and I wish for the safety of everyone like I sincerely do.
